A lot of people know that I love to cook and I used EVOO a lot in the foods that I cook. Just before Christmas, I decided one night that me and Olivia would have spaghetti squash because we had it at the house and we love it. Its such an easy meal to cook and I know that my extra picky eater will actually eat a lot of it, so why not? The Flavor Your Life campaign aims to educate North American consumers about authentic extra virgin olive oil from Europe. Flavor Your Life is empowering to consumers by educating them about the rich history and delicious properties found that these oils display. And what better way than sharing the delicious extra virgin olive oil culinary culture that’s been harvested in Europe for generations.

I started out by preheating the oven at a solid 400° and not using convection on our oven. Did you know that extra virgin olive oil has a high smoking point of 400° which is why it is suitable for cooking and baking. For some reason our oven honestly burns everything whenever we use convection so needless to say we decided against using it. As the oven was preheating, I took out the cutting board and cut the spaghetti squash in half length wise.

Spaghetti Squash Opened up showing seeds

Next step was to remove the seeds by scooping them out with my spurtle or you can use just a spoon.

After the removal of the seeds, it was time to break out the extra virgin olive oil and pour into a small bowl.

Next up it was time to spread the olive oil onto the inside of the spaghetti squash using a silicone brush.

Then I added some salt, pepper and a little garlic butter seasoning onto the squash.

Next was to turn the spaghetti squash exposing the outside of the squash only and to use a fork to poke some ventilation holes into it.

Then I stuck it into the oven for 45 minutes (I am showing it at 39 minutes because I got distracted as usual)

After it was finished I took it out and let it sit for a good 5 minutes before I started to make it into spaghetti using a fork.

As I let it rest, I started on the spaghetti sauce which was just a small can of diced tomatoes, some garlic powder, onion powder, Italian herbs and some marinara sauce in a pan and heated it up to temperature.

After letting the sauce simmer for a bit and was ready to use, it was time to get that spaghetti ready.

All that was left was to put into a bowl, add the spaghetti sauce and enjoy dinner! This was such a fun and easy meal to make for dinner and is one of our favorites to do.

This extra virgin olive oil was delicious and didn’t leave a bad aftertaste to it. I’ve tried other EVOO’s before and they always leave a horrible aftertaste in my mouth so this has now become one of my favorites to use. Be sure to store your extra virgin olive oil somewhere cool and not on your counter or near the oven. This extra virgin olive oil was harvested in Italy and it’s vegan, gluten free and doesn’t have any any additives or preservatives.

Bring home the authentic EVOO and use in your home as it has a robust flavor and has an aroma like no other one out there.
