Grit & Grace by Suzanne Hadley Gosselin & Gretta Kennedy Review

*Disclaimer: I did receive an advance copy of this book in order to help facilitate my review. All my opinions are 100% my own.

Have you ever read a daily devotional book just for moms? I have read many different books that have devotionals in the past for college, moms and more. But this book is not like any of the others that I have read in the past. This one was written with love and kindness knowing what most moms go through on a daily basis. Grit & Grace is a wonderful collection of 90 daily devotionals written by two moms who have too found themselves in need of encouragement. They hope that they too will be able to reach a mom who may feel like they can’t go anymore and they don’t know if they are good parents. Struggling as a parent can be difficult in all but when you have a child who is strong-willed you sometimes feel like you can’t make them happy.

Gosselin and Kennedy were college roommates who started comparing notes over the phone once they became parents with a family. Through the humor of some of the stories to heartbreak, they know that being a strong mom can be a little difficult. This book has made me realize that I’m not the only mom who struggles on a daily basis with if I am adequate enough to be her mom. Olivia does seem to test me every day and really has done so since she was a toddler, but I love her no matter what. This book was written with moms who have young children in mind, but don’t let that shy you away from the book if you have older children. This book has made me feel like I am the right person to be Olivia’s mom and I just need to learn to trust in Him as I continue to go through my journey of being a work from home mom to a child who has a disorder. I will not let that get in my path of being a mom who works hard and loves her more than anything in the world! If you too are searching for a great devotional then this is the book for you! Check out their Facebook, Twitter & Instagram feeds for more about learning to juggle motherhood with real life! I highly recommend this book for all moms who feel like you aren’t adequate enough in life!
