July is Gone…Hello August!

It’s hard to believe that July has come and gone! Life got busy during the month of July as I started working full-time again after being a stay at home mom for almost 6 years. I have enjoyed the extra income into the house and we have been able to pay off a few things already. So hello August as we look forward to the start of school and soccer season for our family. Olivia wanted to be enrolled in soccer again so that is exactly what we did. She actually has her soccer assessments tomorrow evening as long as the rain holds off.

8th Grade for Olivia

It’s hard to believe that Olivia is going to be in the 8th grade this year! I’m honestly glad that we decided to hold her back a year because she is ready to learn soon. We ordered her books last week and they just arrived yesterday via UPS. The one thing that we changed up a bit for her schooling is we decided on doing accredited. We chose this because starting next year when she’s in high school it will be beneficial for her learning. So, why not start her a year early on the accredited version instead and let her get used to how things roll. I’m so glad that we decided to go with Abeka Academy again this year because she loves this curriculum. We love the curriculum as well and find that giving her a Christian education is just what she needs. The classes she is taking this year are:

  • Bible 8
  • Pre-Algebra
  • Earth & Space Science
  • Language Arts – Grammar & Composition, Vocabulary & Spelling & Literature
  • History – American History & Civics
  • PE – We can use Soccer this year as her PE

That is all she is taking but she is excited and eager to get started already. We have her date to start as August 20th, but if we would let her she would start tomorrow! I’m so glad that I have a child who loves to learn and study and enjoys her lessons. Just thankful for all that she has taught me as a mom.

Life in General

Life in general has been pretty busy for us. It’s been hectic for me as I have been adjusting to the working life. My coworkers are awesome!  I’m still a travel agent and have been trying to adjust to being a working mom again. Who knew that my life would become this blessed? I know God knew but I’m just thankful for the opportunity to work again. Jason’s work schedule is changing at the end of the month, so that means we have to get used to it again. He will have different days off and it means that we will have to continue to work and do school during those days. I try my hardest to keep my weekends open so I can enjoy life, but sometimes I do have to work the weekends. And honestly, I’m ok with it. Time for bed. Until next time!
