Nancy Drew & the Hidden Staircase DVD Review

Nancy Drew & the Hidden Staircase DVD Review

*Disclaimer: Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy of the Blu-ray I reviewed in this Blog Post. The opinions I share are my own.

Did you grow up reading the Nancy Drew books? I did and I still have several copies around my house or my parents from when I was a teenager. I always thought that being Nancy Drew was the coolest thing and I tried my hardest to be sneaky around the house, looking for clues about nothing. But it was always a good book to read as a mystery genre when I was in middle school and an easy book report to do as well. Did you know that a new movie was out on Nancy Drew? This movie isn’t like anything I’ve ever seen before and it made me want to find my books again and read them. Nothing like a little nostalgia to start the season out.

The new movie that is out in all major retailer stores is “Nancy Drew & the Hidden Staircase” which is an amazing movie. Olivia was a little worried that she wouldn’t like the movie but she was wrong for sure. She ended up loving the movie and loved the story line behind it. She has never read any of the books before so now she is interested in reading a few. So even more of a reason for me to find the few that I have around here or up in the attic or my parents. Here is a little more about the movie:

The iconic mystery solving teenager from the classic Nancy Drew books is back with an all-new feature length film that will keep you guessing until the very end! Warner Bros. Home Entertainment will release Nancy Drew And The Hidden Staircase on Digital starting March 26, 2019 and Blu-ray™ Combo Pack & DVD on April 2, 2019. Executive Produced by Ellen DeGeneres, the film stars Sophia Lillis (IT and “Sharp Objects”), Sam Trammell (“True Blood” and “This is Us”), and Linda Lavin (“The Good Wife” and“Alice”) and follows Nancy Drew in her new town, making new friends and on a mission to solve the case! The film carries a suggested retail price of $19.99 for the Digital, $19.98 for the DVD and $28.98 for the Blu-ray Combo Pack.

After the death of his wife, Carson Drew decides to leave Chicago behind and make a fresh start with his daughter in River Heights. But for 16-year-old Nancy Drew, life in a small town is mighty dull. She longs for excitement, adventure, and the chance to make a difference. Nancy gets that opportunity when she is asked to help solve the ghostly activity at the Twin Elms mansion. Can she help explain the creaking footsteps, exploding lightbulbs and the ominous creature? Is it the handiwork of high-school bully Derek Barnes? Or is it possible that the ghost of original owner Malcolm Colfax is back for revenge? Recruiting her best friends George and Bess, along with local “mean girl” Helen, Nancy Drew is on the case!

I think you will enjoy this movie if you grew up reading the books and if not then maybe you will want to start reading them now. I highly recommend this book for everyone who loves a good mystery!

Are you an Amy Schumer fan? If so then this is a movie that you have to see. We saw this movie in the theaters as a family and this was a must get on DVD for our family. I was pretty excited when I found out that I was going to be able to review this on my blog as well. This movie reminds me of a female version of Shallow Hal and it was just as funny as seeing the first movie. Here is a little more information on the movie below.

Renee’s life is changed forever when she slipped and fell at the gym making her think that she feels pretty compared to before. This is a laugh out loud comedy that each time we watch it, gets funnier every time. Renee gets a new found confidence as she wants to live her life fearlessly and flawlessly. But when she has another fall, she quickly becomes less confident but ends up finding love. This Blu-Ray came with exciting bonus features that includes deleted scenes, a gag reel, and a special feature that takes fans further into this hilarious and moving story!

I Feel Pretty is now available for you to purchase at all major retailers and is available through a digital purchase as well. Don’t miss out on purchasing this movie because it will make you feel good and have a good laugh with friends and family. No matter how down you may be or feel, just watch the video and all those thoughts will go out of your mind. Don’t miss out on watching this movie and adding it to your collection!

3 Generations DVD Review

3 Generations DVD Review

We love watching family movies and since summer is now upon us, kids are out of school and vacations are happening. Why not have a movie night at home with the family and watch the new movie out today, June 13, 2017, “3 Generations.” We have watched this movie together…OK so it was me and Olivia but it still was a good movie! Here is what the movie is about:

“3 Generations” tells the stirring and touching story of three generations of a family living under one roof in New York as they deal with the life-changing transformation by one that ultimately affects them all. Ray (Elle Fanning) is a teenager who has struggled with the body assigned to him at birth and is determined to start transitioning. His single mother, Maggie (Naomi Watts), must track down Ray’s biological father (Tate Donovan) to get his legal consent to allow Ray’s transition. Dolly (Susan Sarandon), Ray’s lesbian grandmother is having a hard time accepting that she now has a grandson. They must each confront their own identities and learn to embrace change and their strength as a family in order to ultimately find acceptance and understanding.

This movie is so good and is available today at any local retailer! I saw it at Target and at Walmart today when I went out! It’s a must have movie to watch this summer with your friends and family!!!
