Dollywood Review

*This is a sponsored post. I received 2 complimentary tickets to Dollywood in order to facilitate my review for this post. All my opinions are 100% my own! I did however pay for Olivia’s ticket.

While we were visiting the Great Smokey Mountains on our vacation this year, we decided to visit Dollywood as well. I haven’t been to Dollywood since 1995 with my family and I was only 14 years old!!! I was lucky enough to be able to take my teen here and we had a blast! When we first got there we got right at opening and so we didn’t have to park a far way off. And even though we took the tram it reminded me of the tram like we take at Walt Disney World!! Once we arrived we went and got our tickets and then we we headed into the park. Of course we are used to going through bag check and we didn’t have any issues and had a lot of people say that they didn’t enjoy going through there. But for us it’s nothing considering that we are used to standing in a long line at Walt Disney World for our bags to be checked. Soon we were able to go in and take our picture in front of the Dollywood Sign just as if you were at Magic Kingdom. So much fun! Then we were off to head to explore the park! I immediately took pictures of the festive decorations in the park and was excited to start to go ride a few rides with Olivia. We soon were at the newest ride, Lightning Rod and found out we couldn’t ride the ride with Olivia.

We found this to be happen with most of the rides around the park and it was hard for us to be able to ride any rides with Olivia. For us this is a big deal as we like to ride as a family. Olivia got to ride a lot of the bigger rides that I would have loved to ride with her but couldn’t fit on the rides. Ugh…that really hurt my feelings to have to continue to get off the rides and walk away as Olivia continued to ride. We found that going to a few other theme parks was easier for us to ride as a family. We did however ride the steam engine train and man it was awesome!

The food was amazing as I remembered it growing up and vacationing there. And the snacks did not disappoint! The best part of the whole trip was that it was cool during the day to where we did need a jacket or a hoodie in which I totally took advantage of. While we haven’t returned to Dollywood since last October, we do plan on going back soon when we head back to the mountains!!! If you are looking for a fun day that isn’t in the National Parks, head over to Dollywood where you can explore a whole new fun there.
