We Spent the Holidays by Enjoying Medieval Times

We Spent the Holidays by Enjoying Medieval Times

*Disclaimer: We received free tickets to go enjoy Medieval Times in Myrtle Beach in order to help facilitate my review. All opinions are 100% my own.

Have you or your family ever been to Medieval Times? If you haven’t then you need to go to your nearest castle this year! We wanted to do something fun with the family during the holidays and we decided to head to Medieval Times in Myrtle Beach! The cheering and the fun chants were just what our family needed to kick of the holiday season. We headed to the Myrtle Beach castle where we met up with some of our good friends to enjoy the evening. When we first arrived at the castle we headed inside to upgrade our tickets to the Queens Royalty Package. This package allows you to sit in the first or 2nd rows, receive a group photo for each member in the group,  a cheering banner and a VIP Pass. This was perfect for our group and the kids loved it as much as my husband did!

Once you’re in the main section or the pre-show area you are able to shop a little, grab a drink or two and even just check out the pre-show. Soon it will be time for your family to go into the arena and find your seats. Not long after being seated you will meet your server and they will take your drink order. After all have been seated it’s time for the show to begin and the chanting to roar. And what I mean by chanting is my husband yelling “Down, Down, Down Red Knight Going Down”.

Soon it will be time for you and your family to start eating starting off with a tomato bisque (dragon’s blood) and garlic bread (dragon scale). Followed by chicken (aka baby dragon), corn on the cob and a potato. For dessert you will receive a small thing of ice cream with caramel sauce on top which was delicious! Then it’s time to let the games begin.

As you’re eating your meal like you are back in the medieval times, you will be entertained by horses, tricks and jousting. The show will allow you to boo the other colors and will be able to interact with the other knights. This is an action packed show that will keep you and your family wanting to come back for another show while you are on vacation to Myrtle Beach this summer! Be sure to head over there to check out their new show and enjoy the experience! I promise you that you will love it!!! You can also grab tickets and a chance to win tickets to see your own show at Medieval Times here.

Nancy Drew & the Hidden Staircase DVD Review

Nancy Drew & the Hidden Staircase DVD Review

*Disclaimer: Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy of the Blu-ray I reviewed in this Blog Post. The opinions I share are my own.

Did you grow up reading the Nancy Drew books? I did and I still have several copies around my house or my parents from when I was a teenager. I always thought that being Nancy Drew was the coolest thing and I tried my hardest to be sneaky around the house, looking for clues about nothing. But it was always a good book to read as a mystery genre when I was in middle school and an easy book report to do as well. Did you know that a new movie was out on Nancy Drew? This movie isn’t like anything I’ve ever seen before and it made me want to find my books again and read them. Nothing like a little nostalgia to start the season out.

The new movie that is out in all major retailer stores is “Nancy Drew & the Hidden Staircase” which is an amazing movie. Olivia was a little worried that she wouldn’t like the movie but she was wrong for sure. She ended up loving the movie and loved the story line behind it. She has never read any of the books before so now she is interested in reading a few. So even more of a reason for me to find the few that I have around here or up in the attic or my parents. Here is a little more about the movie:

The iconic mystery solving teenager from the classic Nancy Drew books is back with an all-new feature length film that will keep you guessing until the very end! Warner Bros. Home Entertainment will release Nancy Drew And The Hidden Staircase on Digital starting March 26, 2019 and Blu-ray™ Combo Pack & DVD on April 2, 2019. Executive Produced by Ellen DeGeneres, the film stars Sophia Lillis (IT and “Sharp Objects”), Sam Trammell (“True Blood” and “This is Us”), and Linda Lavin (“The Good Wife” and“Alice”) and follows Nancy Drew in her new town, making new friends and on a mission to solve the case! The film carries a suggested retail price of $19.99 for the Digital, $19.98 for the DVD and $28.98 for the Blu-ray Combo Pack.

After the death of his wife, Carson Drew decides to leave Chicago behind and make a fresh start with his daughter in River Heights. But for 16-year-old Nancy Drew, life in a small town is mighty dull. She longs for excitement, adventure, and the chance to make a difference. Nancy gets that opportunity when she is asked to help solve the ghostly activity at the Twin Elms mansion. Can she help explain the creaking footsteps, exploding lightbulbs and the ominous creature? Is it the handiwork of high-school bully Derek Barnes? Or is it possible that the ghost of original owner Malcolm Colfax is back for revenge? Recruiting her best friends George and Bess, along with local “mean girl” Helen, Nancy Drew is on the case!

I think you will enjoy this movie if you grew up reading the books and if not then maybe you will want to start reading them now. I highly recommend this book for everyone who loves a good mystery!
