Soccer Season is Over

Soccer Season is Over

It’s hard to believe that Olivia’s team made it to the last game of the season before the finals hit and that is something to be proud of. They played hard and Olivia played her best too! She had gotten a hold of the ball numerous times during the game and I couldn’t be any prouder! Seeing her shine while doing something that she loves to do is just what we had hoped she would do. She wants to play soccer this fall and we shall do that too. And then we have her enrolled in the British Soccer Camp at the end of the month and she can’t wait to start on that. She said that she is glad we kind of “pushed” her into the sport again because as a homeschooling family, finding things for her to do can be a little challenging. Even though there are other things we could have enrolled her into during the school year, soccer seems to be her passion.

She is finishing up on her lessons and she has her final testing on June 27th which would be awesome. We paid a little over $80 for her to take the testing but it’s the testing that she really enjoyed the most and any amount of money we’d be willing to pay for her education. Well up to a certain amount y’all because that can be very expensive to say the least. We have tried the whole private school thing at the beginning of the year and that didn’t work out too well, so we will stick with homeschooling her for now. Plus she understands the math she is learning, can’t wait for her 8th grade science because it entails her learning about space and the earth. I mean really, who doesn’t want to take a field trip to the Air & Space Museum in DC or a trip to Kennedy Space Center in Florida? The Air & Space Museum is the same one I went to on numerous field trips as a child and I’m sure they have updated a few things but most of it is the same as it was when I was her age. And I have never been to the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, even though we go to Florida often. We are still trying to decide on what type of vacation we want to take this year or will we be able to afford one. Not sure yet if we will. But there are so major changes coming up and I can’t wait to share it with you soon but not just yet!

Summer is almost here for us and we can’t wait! Not like we have anything else planned except to go to my best friends house for a few days this summer to enjoy the sunshine and the girls to play together! Maybe take Luna to the beach again!

Life has been Busy

Life has been Busy

It seems like me being able to blog lately has been off. Life has been busy now that Olivia is finishing up her 7th grade year and with straight A’s!! This is a big improvement compared to how it was the past several years! She

April Update

April Update

I feel like April came and went so quickly. It seems like it was just the beginning of the month and life has happened. So many things have happened or gone on in our lives in April. So here is a little recap of what

Soccer Practice Has Begun!

Soccer Practice Has Begun!

Yesterday was Olivia’s first day of practice! She was so nervous about it being a new team, a new coach and yet there was still one of the players on her team from last year. She was excited to see that he was on the team with her and this year she has 2 more girls on the same team as her. That’s a big deal for her because she was the only girl on the team last year.

Last night it was a bitter cold sitting on the side of the field and to tell you the truth I should have brought a blanket with us. We did however get new chairs to sit on the side of the field and watch her practice and to take to the games. She will right now have to practice on Friday’s and Saturday’s until the games start. That is something different this year that they didn’t do last year. But honestly I felt like they should have practiced more than once last year but they will have games on Saturdays eventually! So that is a plus y’all! And we love having the Friday night practices as well.

The one thing that has also changed from last year is that we have lights on the soccer field! Last year when it would get dark out early or it would get dark at like 7:30 pm, we would just hope and pray the kids could see what they were doing. Thankfully we saw over the summer that Nash County Parks and Rec were putting them up on the fields! Yes! Finally! It’s been a long time coming for them to put them up! Olivia even told me that she enjoyed being able to see while on the field. Now to just wait until she gets her new glasses and she can be able to see a lot better!

I’m so glad that Olivia wanted to play soccer again! She has been wanting to play again even last fall but when we enrolled her into the private school, we didn’t want her to get too overwhelmed. And then when we pulled her out, it was too late to sign her up for the fall soccer. We did however get her all new equipment and last night she was able to keep up with the other kids on the field for running around the field which was a huge improvement guys! This season is going to be busy for our family, but well worth it to see Olivia play soccer again and enjoy her sport she loves so much!

We have enrolled Olivia into a Summer Soccer Camp and she can’t wait to play that. It’s for only half a day which is all that is available for us to take advantage of. But she seriously can’t wait for it to begin! I’m so glad that we have been able to find such great sports that Olivia loves!

Question for all of my readers? Does your child or children play a sport and what is it?
