When we first learned that Disney was making a movie starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, we knew this was going to be an epic movie. Jungle Cruise at Walt Disney World happens to be Olivia’s favorite ride because of all the puns as she is our pun queen. The Jungle Cruise movie arrived for digital views on August 31st and arrives on DVD November 16th, 2021.

About the Film

The story line for the movie is genius and takes you back to wishing you too were apart of that fun and adventure seeking ride of a lifetime. Dr. Lily Houghton is seeking an ancient tree that has healing abilities and joins wisecracking skipper Frank Wolff down the Amazon. Even though they are amidst danger and supernatural forces that are lurking in the jungle, secrets of the tree start to unfold as their fate and mankind’s, well hang in the balance. This movie was so cute and yet so funny at the same time. We watched it twice in a row which was a good thing for our daughter.

Bonus Features

  • Jungle Cruise Expedition Mode – Climb aboard a rambshackle tramp steamer (or your own couch) to learn fun facts, discover Easter eggs and catch up on some trivia throughout the movie.
  • It’s a Jungle Out There: Making Jungle Cruise – Director Jaume Collet-Serra, the cast and crew discuss the importance of the film’s elements, from casting to makeup to the use of an ancient indigenous language, in creating the world that honors one of Disneyland’s most beloved rides.

  • Once A Skip, Always A Skip – Join a panel of “Skippers” at the Disneyland Resort as they reminisce about the rewards, challenges and surprises they’ve experience while helming the world-famous Jungle Cruise attraction, and hear their advice to aspiring skippers everywhere!
  • Outtakes – Step behind the scenes of the production to catch the cast in a series of flubs, falls, foibles — and a whole of laughter.

This was such a fun movie and has even inspired Olivia to possibly want to become a skipper herself in the future at Walt Disney World. While it is rated PG-13, its definitely a movie to add to your Disney Movie Collection today!
