Yesterday we had some beautiful snow happening. Of course all schools were closed and I got a phone call around 11am to come pick Olivia because daycare was closing early as well. We at that point were getting ready to start up with the sleet

Ok so me and my big mouth decided to speak up at lunch on Sunday and tell Shelley that I would be more than happy to make a cake and bring to the Valentine’s Day dinner at church. Now I’m not opposed to bringing one but that means that I need to figure out what kind of cake I want to make. I am thinking of making one using Fondant. A friend who I have been reading her blog, Covey, gave me a quick and easy recipe for making fondant. I am going to have to use that one as a trial and error cake and take it to church. I’ll then go ahead and precut it there and all. I have found this cool new website, Cake Central, and have found some great ideas on there with beautiful pictures. I am also going to be making my grandfather a cake for his 89th birthday and also to make Olivia a cake of her dreams! She wants the cake from “Cars” the movie but instead of Lightning McQueen she wants “Mater!” There is no cake pan for Mater so I’ll have to come up with a girly idea instead! Below are some pictures that I have been looking at with some quick ideas for the 14th of Feb and also with some ideas for the other two cakes! Happy looking!

I like this look for maybe Olivia’s Birthday…

Another one for possibly Olivia…

Here’s one for Valentine’s Day that I like the best!

Last night was awesome. We ended up going to JR’s too which is like a wholesale company in Smithfield and Terry got 2 boxes of cigars and Olivia got three workbooks and some fruit snacks. When we were done there we headed on over to the Nike Outlet. I am so glad we have one in North Carolina because I found the pair of shoes I was looking for there for a lesser price then I would have in any retail store. The pair that I got had the retail price of $90.00 but I only paid $49.99 for them. What a deal right? So the next time that I need shoes I’m going there instead. I wanted to go into the other stores out there but Olivia was crying she was hungry so we went into Ruby Tuesday and ate dinner. It was very good as usual.

Today I got up early to my dismay and took my blood sugar. Once again it was up pretty high, 131 mg. Much higher than it was yesterday morning which happened to be 100 mg. So I guess that I will now have to completely start monitoring my blood sugar more often. When I get paid next Thursday I’m going to order some test strips online at a wholesale price and probably get 100. I think this will work out good for me. Also I’m really hoping that Terry gets a job with the state so that we can get me tested for diabetes. Now I don’t want to have it but I have a feeling I already do. 🙁 Oh well, nothing I can do about it now. Well I also got the new meter that I wanted from Accu-Chek Aviva. So we’ll see how that does. I’ll be happy when I do get my fastings under control! Maybe I’ll feel better then. I also went walking today and did very well. It was so far my personal best and I haven’t walked in over 15 days. So this was very good for me to just start back up. But the weather has been so ify lately that everytime I was going to go out it would start to rain. Today’s weather is very chilly but nice and sunny out.

Tonight we’re going to head on over to Sam’s Club in Rocky Mount. We need to get several things from there and I think I’m going to pick up some fresh avocado’s for some spread, some other items to help out with the whole healthy aspect of my goals this year. Ok well I need to get going…have to get back to work for the rest of the afternoon and make phone calls. Have a great Friday!

I know I have been kind of slack in posting blogs this week but things have been keeping me busy with Olivia. She for the past several days starting Monday night has been having diarrhea and thought it was a stomach bug. Then we realized

This weekend wasn’t too much activity going on. Lets see, Friday night, Olivia and I went to Walmart to pick up a few things like Puff Paint and some socks. Then it was over to the mall to get Terry’s CD he wanted from Best Buy, an Old Metallica CD, and then we went looking for tennis shoes because Terry told me I could purchase some. Yes! But good Old Rocky Mount didn’t have any that I was looking for because it wasn’t Ghetto Shoes!!! Yeah I’m sure you all know what those kinds of shoes are if you have ever been to the Golden East Crossings Mall. Anyways, then Olivia and I went on back to the house and she went down for the evening and then I went to working on making Olivia’s non-skid socks with the puffy paint. They turned out pretty nice too.

Saturday I went to Raleigh with Tonya and Olivia and we went to several thrift stores and then on over to Dicks Sporting Goods and Babies R Us on Capital Blvd. Oh and we ate at Fuddruckers too! Yummy!!! Although I didn’t find any shoes at Dick’s I found lots of other cool things at the Thrift Stores! For one found Lots of Books and an organization Bins for Olivia’s toys in her room. I’m now going to keep an eye out for bookshelves for the house because we need one it looks like. Saturday night we stopped by Starbucks and got us something to keep us warm for the drive home. Yesterday we got up and went on over to Tarboro and ate lunch. I also took several of the Glucose Meter’s to Justin to see which one he wanted as a back up. He chose the FreeStyle Flash one which he is going to like if he ever needs to use it. I am now waiting on my Accu-Chek Aviva to come in the mail. I should be receiving it this week sometime. Shelley said that I’m going to enjoy that one better than the one I’m using now which is very confusing in using. Can’t wait to get it and begin using it.

This morning turned out to be an interesting morning. I was making my lunch to take to work and I cut my finger open. Yes, it could probably use a couple stitches but I am very adament in going because I don’t enjoy going to Nash General Hospital’s ER because their plain stupid there and will wait for several hours before you will even been seen in triage. I’m not going through that at all! I am also going to check into seeing how much it will cost me in seeing my doctor in getting checked out for diabetes. I think that I have no other choice now because for the past week my blood sugar in the morning has been high and there has been some highs in the 130’s about 3 hours after I eat which Shelley has told me is not good at all. This week we are going to Smithfield, NC to the Nike outlet. I better get back to work.
