“The Lesson” by Suzanne Woods Fisher Review

I love reading books! It’s one of my pitfalls when it comes to choosing to either clean or cook. I’d rather read than do either of those but I have a great book for you all to read! It’s called “The Lesson” by Suzanne Woods Fisher whose other books have been great to read! This book was one that I could not put down! It reminded me that there is always something that happens in life and even when you aren’t expecting it there is something you can’t do to get away from it. It was a book that just honestly was super cute and if I could have been inside that book I would. I love reading books on Amish and this was one that I just couldn’t put down!!!

“The Lesson” is about a 19 year old girl, Mary Kate Lapp who yearns for adventure, but all she seems to find is trouble. She has dreams of traveling but that has taken a backseat to her assignment to teach school this year. She thinks nothing seems to happen in her sleepy Amish community but that all changes when a sudden and unexplained death coincides with the arrival of a mystery man, and Mary Kate is frustrated that no one takes it seriously! She is determined to take matters into her own hands and tries to get to the bottom of it. She finds that she is determined and finds that she has taken on too much and it was much more than she actually bargained for.

Mary Kate reminds me so much of myself because after I moved from Maryland to Nashville, NC because I too thought there was nothing that ever happened in that sleepy old town. Was I ever wrong and I found myself too getting into trouble and finding things that I shouldn’t be getting into. While it was fun growing up in Maryland, North Carolina seemed to rub off on me and I loved it!

I highly recommend reading this book because it honestly is one of the best books that I have read from Suzanne Woods Fisher in a while. You can get this book at any bookstore and any Christian Book Store!
