The ER Visit

I went to the ER last Monday because I was having a lot of swelling, pain and cramping in my left foot. I have been trying to nurse this foot back to health for a while now and about 2 weeks ago when I stepped wrong and felt a snap and the pain was too much for me to handle I knew I had to get help. I waited almost a week before going to see a doctor but most of the doctors that I know around here expect for the payment to be upfront and when you don’t have an extra $150 laying around and no health insurance you have no other choice but to go to the Emergency Department. I went in and waited not long. I think the longest to wait was in the triage because they had to ask what happened and what not. Boo. But I did happen to talk to a patient representative who was handling my case and he asked me if I had checked out the health insurance in nc yet? I informed him that I had and for the income that I am bringing home and the other bills I have to pay there was no way for me to afford it. Oh well, I did find out that I have Achilles Tendinitis along with a severe sprain to my left ankle. I’m glad that I got it checked out because without treatment it would have not been a pretty site.
