Accountability across all your devices {Accountable2You}
Have you ever wondered to yourself, how can I keep my family safe from the harms of the internet before? Have you ever wanted your kids to be held accountable for something that they have looked at in the past on their phones, iPads or even computers? Have you ever wanted to set those time limits onto their phones and onto their computers to where they can’t search for certain things during a certain time of the day? If so then there is a great program that you can get for your family called Accountable2You and we were lucky enough to be able to review the family plan as part of the Homeschool Review Crew.

Accountability across all your devices {Accountable2You}
When Olivia got in trouble back in May for talking to someone who she shouldn’t have been speaking to or going onto a website of where I told her not to. She didn’t understand the danger that could happen on the web. She’s too trusting and that unfortunately part of being on the Autism Spectrum. She thought that everyone was going to be nice and tell the truth no matter what we had told her to beware of and it scared me so much. I had at that point told her no getting onto the internet and took her iPod away from her as well. We had to change our passwords on all computers and on our phones too. But now I feel more at ease with having this program and account called Accountable2You in which I love. I love being able to set the time limits onto Olivia’s account so that I can keep track of what she searches on her computer and on her iPhone. I no longer have the anxiety as I did before which is a big thing for me.

Accountability across all your devices {Accountable2You}
Accountable2You is a program that you can choose from Individual, Family, Small Group and Business plans in which you can choose what will work best for you. As I stated before I did it for the family so that I can keep track of Olivia and of Jason’s activity too. I love how each device has it’s own accountability partners and how I can install it on different devices which makes me really happy as a parent! I also love the text alerts that I get with some of Olivia’s questionable activity which is good, especially after that little stunt she pulled in the spring. And I have the ability to get notified on my laptop as well which is good if I’m on it working on homework. Another nice thing about using Accountable2You is it does have GPS-Location Tracking in which right now I don’t need to use with Olivia because she is either with me or I know where she is. But if you have teenagers that are in high school and go out with friends this would be a good thing for you to have. Then of course having the time limits alerts is a good thing to have when you have kids and when you get mad at your spouse (just kidding on this one). But please note that the time limit alerts are only good if you have a family account.

The price for the Individual Plan is $6.99 per month and you get up to 6 devices on this place. The Family Plan is $9.99 a month and you will receive up to 20 devices on this plan. The Group Plan is $9.99 a month plus $2.99 for each member and can have 6 devices per member. The Small Business Plan is $14.99 and is $.99 for each device. You can always check out their Facebook Page & their YouTube Account to look for more information!

I have enjoyed using the family plan and will continue to use it until the subscription is up next year. I received a 12 month subscription to be able to facilitate my review from Accountable2You and as part of the Homeschool Review Crew! All my opinions are my own!

KidsEmail.org Annual Subscription Review

KidsEmail.org Annual Subscription Review

KidsEmail.org Annual Subscription
Is your child savvy on the internet? Do they like to get emails from their friends and family? It’s almost like they are independent but there are so many threats out there on the internet that it’s hard to keep them protected at all times. Now we have a solution for keeping up with Olivia’s email as we are now using KidsEmail.org for her main email and I feel so much better knowing that we are protecting her by using our Annual Subscription that we received to be able to review this product.

KidsEmail.org Annual Subscription
I had used KidsEmail.org in the past for Olivia but had completely forgotten about it for a few years. I should have known better but it’s like life got super busy for us and I just forgot. The main thing that I love about allowing Olivia to use this email service is that I can protect her from the threats and predators out there who are preying on young children. I like how I can monitor her email and I can set up a few features that are wonderful for all parents to have for their children. One of the features that I love is that I can set time restrictions for when she can access her email. That means no emailing or getting her email in the middle of the night! Yes that has happened to us already with her using a regular email account we set up for her. Not good! And if they are grounded from using anything or the internet that means they will be grounded from their email as well. A simple solution for most parents out there!

KidsEmail.org Annual Subscription
Next up that I love is no Ad’s! This is very important because you never know what kind of ad’s will pop up on their email accounts. I think this is a very safe and protected thing to have. Plus the parents have the option of viewing all of their child’s emails that they receive so you can really keep a check on what and who they are emailing. This is something I wish I had for Olivia back in May when she had pulled her little stunt she pulled. You can set up a contact manager to where your child can only email to the people who are on her contact list. No other person at all and this is a great way to protect our children for sure. KidsEmail.org also allows you to block people from sending any emails to your child or children. I love this idea! I’m sure Olivia would think otherwise but that’s her opinion and not mine.

When it comes to the different options that you have to choose from for the subscriptions they are as follows:

  • Trial: Try out KidsEmail.org for 30 days for free! This way you can try it out and see if it will work for you and your family!
  • Monthly: Pay $4.95 a month and receive 4 email accounts with your subscription.
  • Annual: Pay $38.95 annually and receive 6 email accounts with your subscription. This is the best value to get because you get more email accounts and will be able to keep your family safe.

You can use this for a teenager as well which is what we are going to be dealing with in about 6 months with Olivia. Perfect! I can still check and see what she is doing and writing to her friends! Be sure to check out their Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and Google+ accounts. This is going to be my favorite email service to use with Olivia from now until she’s old enough to be in college!

Patriotic Penmanship- Grade 6 (cursive) Review

Patriotic Penmanship- Grade 6 (cursive) Review

Latin and Penmanship {Laurelwood Books Review}
We have been working hard on getting Olivia to learn cursive but she has been struggling and we felt that since this coming up year since she will be officially in 6th Grade we will continue to work on cursive with her. We will be working on another cursive program with her over the summer and then we will be doing Patriotic Penmanship-Grade 6 (cursive) written by Mary Ellen Tedrow and offered by Laurelwood Books. We have done one the first lesson just to see how she would like it and so that she can continue to practice when we begin to use the book in the fall!

Latin and Penmanship {Laurelwood Books Review}
I was very pleased when we first received the book in the mail because we received a nice little note along with the order. Also the book was so nicely printed up and was so nicely done inside. I love each lesson that is included in the book as it is not just one page long and it is actually two pages long. It has a quote at the very top, verse from a song or saying by someone. Then it goes into showing your child or children how to draw the letter in either print if that is what your child is working on or cursive. Olivia is working on cursive so that is what she will be working on this coming school year still. Then the child will write each part of the quote or whatever is written in cursive at the top. Each word actually several times on their own line. I like that very much as it pays very good attention to detail unlike several other handwriting or penmanship books we have tried in the past. Some only asked the child to work on the whole sentence at once and while that may be fine for some children but for a child who has sensory issues like Olivia, this book works just perfect for her! She is excited to do this book all year long! Then after doing each word separate, they will write the full quote together! That is perfect for her and is perfect for any child who is just like Olivia! I might even do this book along side with her just to practice on my handwriting skills some since it’s been years since I have done cursive on lines like the book has for years!!!

Another thing that I love about this book is when she is ready to move up to the next grade level we can. Patriotic Penmanship has books starting at Grade 1 and goes up to Grade 9-12. We would be using Grade 7-8 next year which would be Jr. High age group and would be cursive still. This is a good thing because if Olivia was still in Public School she would still not know how to even read cursive!!! They stopped teaching cursive the year that common core came out which happened to be the same year that Olivia started third grade. That’s horrible in my books! But since we decided to Homeschool it was the best decision we could have ever made! We are able to do whatever we want as far as her curriculum goes and we can travel if we chose to! But I’m off topic again…what’s new! So back to Patriotic Penmanship…This book is amazing and we love it so much! I have even suggested it to several of my other homeschool friends to check it out at the local homeschool store as I saw it there the other day while I was there shopping for 13.95 just the same price as they have it online for! You should check out their Facebook Page for some pretty cool things!

I did receive this book for free in exchange for an honest review from Laurelwood Books and as part of the Schoolhouse Review Crew!
