My Final Move

This is written by a guest blogger. 🙂 I’m not moving anytime soon!

I have never considered myself to be a very stationery sort of person. I have always enjoyed the thrill of moving from place to place. I always looked at moving to a new city as a new adventure of life. In all of the years that I have been able, I have seen many things. I have experienced a lifetime of new people and my eyes have witnessed some amazing things. Some would call me a gypsy. Some may even say that the kind of life that I have lived makes no sense. Still yet, I have been happy every step of the way.

Recently, at the age of sixty two I had a major heart attack. The doctor told me that I would no longer be able to do a lot of the things that I have always done. This hit me hard right in the pit of my nomadic soul. It took me a while to succumb to his orders, but eventually I realized that I had no choice. I found a home near relatives using my Clearwire Internet that would be my new permanent home.

The day that I moved in a guy was there setting up my home phone and Direct TV service. I know that I must have seemed a bit melancholy because he kept giving me strange looks. It was then that I realized that there was no reason why I could not live out the rest of my life reliving my adventures by telling others all of the great tales that had accumulated over the years. I began telling the man about the time that I had lived in New Mexico and was staying in a home full of people who did not speak English. We both had a great laugh and by the time he left I had made a new friend.

I suppose the normal life would do just fine for me after all. You can take the man away from his travels, but you cannot take away his traveler’s heart. It will always be a part of who I am .
